Are You Living Someone Else's Life Because You Never Chose Your Own?
You know the feeling. You inherited a life. Your parents' opinions became your opinions before you could question them. Your community's expectations became your expectations before you could ask whether they fit. You have been performing gestures you learned from other people, wearing agreements you never actually signed, holding beliefs you have not examined in a decade. The exhaustion of it is starting to be more than you can carry. You suspect that if you stripped away everything you have been given, there might not be anything underneath — and you are afraid to find out.
This ritual is for that exact ache.
The Fire Dragon does not give you a new identity to try on. It gives you something rarer: the burning away of everything that was never yours, so what actually is yours can finally stand.
Who the Fire Dragon Is
On the Full Moon of August — the Sturgeon Moon — the eighth of the Twelve Dragons becomes reachable once more. The Fire Dragon's ribbon was scarlet shot through with sapphire — the colors of the clean honest flame that does not just warm but reveals. It settled into the surface fires of a volcanic region where flame had been burning openly across the surface of the world for as long as the world had been turning. There it slept, woven into honest fire itself.
It woke when a priest — a man whose father had been a priest, who had learned every gesture from him, who had been performing his father's ceremonies for ten years and felt nothing — stood at his ceremonial fire at the peak of summer and could no longer pretend to the meaning he had inherited. The Fire Dragon rose in clean columns of flame. It gave him one word: Burn.
Where the Red Dragon teaches ignition, the Fire Dragon teaches what fire is actually for. Not warmth. Not passion. Revelation. Its promise is this: the burning is the kindness. What burns away was not protecting you. It was holding you in a smaller life than the one you are actually capable of.
What Arrives in Your Life After This Ritual
The Fire Dragon's gifts arrive as the removal of what is false — and what remains after the burning is what was always yours.
1. Seeing the Red on Yourself. You will become able to see, on your own skin and your own actions, the red of what is false. The gesture you make that is not yours. The role you play that you did not choose. The agreement you keep with yourself that is no longer true.
2. Permission to Burn Off What Is Not Yours. Not everything you carry is yours. Some of it was put on you. Some of it can come off. The burning will not diminish you. It will reveal you.
3. The Honest Word. You will find yourself saying things you have not said before. Not cruel things. Honest things. The truth you have been swallowing will come up out of you, in the right moment, with the right care.
4. The Dragon's Discernment. You will stop confusing falseness with imperfection. The friend who is irritating but loyal will not be put through the fire of your judgment. The pattern that has been hurting your life for years will be.
5. The True Foundation. The Fire Dragon's deepest gift is the bone-deep recognition that you are allowed to be honest — about what you believe, about what you want, about what is happening in your life — and that the honesty is the only ground worth standing on.
How It Works — Your Part Is Simple
Use the same simple process as each month. Place your order with your name and intention. During the ceremomy your name is woven into the Fire Dragon's current. You receive your post-ritual letter and the mythology booklet by email. Your part is simply to ask honestly.

Why This Moon, Why Now
The August Full Moon — the Sturgeon Moon — comes once a year. It is the moon of late summer, the moment when the year's fires have burned longest and the light itself has begun to hold the honesty of the season turning. The Fire Dragon's window opens for one night, and the false layers you have been carrying will not wait another twelve months to be burned away.
If you have read this far, the dragon is already near. That quiet ache in the chest — the feeling that you are performing a life instead of living one — is the first spark. The ritual is the fire.
Reserve your place by 9 PM Eastern 27 Aug. Walk into the rest of your year with the honest light, the burning of what is not yours to carry, and the true foundation of a life finally lived in your own voice.
