The Druids knew this turning as \u003cem\u003eAlban Elfed\u003c\/em\u003e, the Light of the Water. In imperial China, the emperors went on the night of the autumn equinox to the Temple of the Moon. Between nine and eleven, they made offerings to the Moon, the twenty-eight lunar mansions, and all the stars. It is a yin-yang that truly comes apart, carrying two unicorns from two worlds. One is the qilin of Chinese legend, revered for serenity and protection. The other is the Western unicorn of freedom and good fortune. Set into each half is the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, where emperors prayed for plenty.
