The book tells how, after death, the heart was set on a balance and weighed against a single feather, the emblem of Ma’at, truth and right order, while the god Anubis tended the scales and the god Thoth wrote down the verdict. A heart found true, the Egyptians believed, was given a home forever in the blessed fields; for a heart that failed, the Devourer waited. Legend Spells draw their magic from the wisdom of legends, and the lesson people kept from this one is simple: a true heart can stand to be weighed. Your letter tells the story in full.

The spell calls on three parts of the book. The Heart, which a dead man in the book asked to stay with him at the weighing, works to steady your heart. The Feather, the emblem of truth set in the other pan, works to bring the truth to light. The Scales, tended by Anubis while Thoth wrote down the verdict, work to help you be weighed fairly.

NOTE: All magic, like this spell, works much better within a Circle of Protection and Focus.
